If your camera looks like one of these, follow these instructions to change its Settings.

Notes:

  • NOTE that camera settings are available only to users designated as Administrators.
  • Video Clips and Snapshots always appear in the Activity (or Events) list.
  • Each camera must be configured separately; click the icon for configuration and subsequent settings.

Name & Time/Date

Enter any desired name for the camera, up to 15 characters. Use the dropdown choices for Time Zone, Time Format, Date Format and automatic adjustment for Daylight Savings Time.

Event Schedule

These controls allow scheduling of periods during which motion events are detected. Use the dropdowns and AM/PM buttons to set Start and End times.
The ADD SCHEDULE button saves the times you set; they appear under Added Schedules.
Touch the trash can icon to delete a scheduled captured period.

Event Capture

- Attachment type: Choose Video Clip or Snapshot. Either choice creates an email notification.

- Pre-capture Length / Post-capture Length: These settings determine the duration of video captured before and after the detection event (or manual trigger) that prompts a recording. Note that the total length of a video clip is 10 seconds, regardless of pre- and post-capture settings. Similarly, a maximum of 10 snapshots can be captured.

- Interval: Use this setting to minimize unwanted notifications. Set a time period from 1 to 15 minutes between detection-triggered captures.

- Triggered By: Choose one of these detection methods.
  • PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor): The camera detects movement by sensing slight heat changes in its environment to a range of about 15 feet (4.5m). Ambient lighting is not critical in this detection mode.
  • Motion: The camera analyzes visual changes in the scene it is watching. The scene is divided into 4 user-defined event detection areas.
- White Light LED: The camera's white LEDs are turned on for the duration of 10-second video captures (effective only when the scene is dark).

Motion Detection

Your camera's field of vision can be separated into distinct Zones, each with its own adjustable level of sensitivity to movement.
  • For each Zone, set the switch to Enabled. A detection area appears, represented by a colored region on-screen.
  • Drag the highlighted corners of each region to the desired size.

Other features

  • White Balance: We recommend leaving this setting on Auto.
  • Brightness and Sharpness: Adjust to your own preference.
  • Status LED Operation: You may wish to keep your camera as unobtrusive as possible. Unselect this checkbox to keep the camera's LED turned off at all times.
  • Infrared LED: This selection enables or disables the red LEDs that provide illumination for night-vision in low-light conditions.
  • Pan/Tilt Speed: Appears on the controls of cameras with the appropriate options. Move this slider to adjust the speed at which the camera moves when scanning its field of view.
