Partitions are independent areas of detection/protection. Each partition contains a group of zones that can be armed/disarmed without affecting other zones and users in the overall system.
Partitioned security systems can be found in places like office buildings and shopping centers.
- A partitioned system can include a common area, which is a part of the premises shared by users of all the system's partitions. One example of a common area would be an office building's lobby.
- Creation and management of Partitions is restricted to the System Administrator/Master User and users who have specifically been designated Partition Managers.
Initial View
Website
When you first log in , the Security/Home page of a partitioned system will look something like this:
- Note the Settings icon at top right.
- Any critical faults are displayed below, in this case, the system low battery condition.
- Next is a summary of the system's security status. In this example, it indicates that 7 of the system's 8 partitions are currently not armed.
- Next, partitions are listed in numerical order.
- When you select any disarmed partition, all of the currently disarmed partitions become selectable, and the blue SELECT ALL option appears at upper right.
- Both ARM AWAY and ARM STAY also become available. Selecting either of the arming options will apply it to all of the partitions checked.
- When you select any currently armed partition, the DISARM option appears.
NOTE that any partition where remote disarming is disabled is grayed-out and displays a lock symbol (in this example, Partition 5). See the FAQ "How can I prevent a partition from being disarmed via Remote Services?" for more information on preventing remote disarming.
