Saved scenes can be modified in the apps or on the website. These examples are taken from the iOS app, but the operation is similar on Android.
- On Android, touch SCENES near the top of the screen
- The main Scenes page appears, displaying the scenes saved on your system
- At left, scene names are listed
- Just under the scene's name is a description of the actions in the Scene
On scenes set to Manually activate, the choices are limited to:
(When you think about it, there's never any need to put a manually-triggered scene
on Hold; all you need to do is not run it.)
- Edit Scene: This opens the same series of steps used to create scenes, but you don't have to start over. Your existing settings appear on each screen in the process; just click Next to keep the existing setting until you get to the one you want to change.
Note that changing the type of trigger (for example, from During this time to Manually activate) will reset all of your settings in that scene to their defaults. - Put On Hold pauses any scene set to During this time or Triggered by some device. A scene put on Hold cannot run again until you open its settings and select Resume (see below).
- Delete Scene: Make sure you want to do this before going any further; a confirmation message will appear before you do.
An On Hold indicator is displayed when you make this setting, as seen on the LightsHeat AM scene pictured above.
Notes
- IMPORTANT: Even if you're just testing a scene, pressing the Run button is the real thing. Lights will turn on or off, thermostats will go up or down, doors will lock or unlock and scenes do not reset themselves automatically. You can create another scene to reset hardware and settings after a given scene runs, but again, things do return to their previous state after a scene runs. See the FAQ called After a Scene runs, how do I change things back?
- All the feature icons may not fit on the navigation bar, depending on the size of your device's screen. See the FAQ What if the feature I want isn't at the bottom of the screen? (iOS Navigation Order).
- Icons may be arranged differently from what you see here, but the Home icon will always be at the far left.
- Scenes are listed alphanumerically on the main Scenes screen, so items whose names begin with a number appear before those starting with letters.
