The Total Connect 2.0 Google Home Skill is compatible with Pro Series systems.
An existing Total Connect/remote services account is required before beginning setup.
- Google Home controls security functions:
- Arm your system in Away, Stay or Night mode
- Disarm your system
- In multi-partition installations, the user can control only the first partition at this time.
- Google Home works with multiple Locations associated with your Total Connect account. The location's name will be displayed as the device name.
- If you see Not Synced in red under the user code field, sync your panel before doing anything else. (See the FAQ What does "Sync" mean in Remote Services? for more information.)
- Control of Scenes, Automation control and video features are in the works.
Follow these steps to link Total Connect to Google Home:
2. Click Set up device
3. Click the Works with Google option.
The next screen is distinguished by a search icon in the upper right corner. At the time of this writing, iOS devices will show the words Add Devices while Android devices should say Home Control. (The illustrations below have been modified; you'll probably see a much longer list of options.)
4. Search for and select:
5. Log into your Total Connect account when prompted.
6. When the user agreement appears, review it and select ALLOW.
7. Make sure the security system icon is selected and select CONNECT.
8. The notification Total Connect 2.0 has been successfully linked appears.
Using Total Connect with Google Home
- Log in to Total Connect 2.0 on your mobile device or the website
- Go to My Profile on the app (or Profile on the website)
- Under Access, make sure your user code is saved. This is necessary for Google Home to function properly and must be applied to all Locations or to the Location where you’ll be using Google Home with Total Connect.
Once this setting is made, Google Home can respond to these commands...
- "Ok Google, set my security to arm stay"
- "Ok Google, set security to arm away"
- "Ok Google, set security to arm night"
- "Ok Google, disarm my security"
- "Ok Google, arm {location name}"
- "Ok Google, sync my devices"
...and these questions:
- “Ok Google, is my security armed?"
- "Ok Google, is my {location name} armed?"
