Normally, your security dealer or monitoring station has read-only access to your Remote Services/Total Connect account. This means these security professionals can view your settings, but cannot make any changes.
Security Professional Access grants the dealer one-time, nearly-full access to your account for troubleshooting and adjustments. During this time, the dealer cannot:
  • See live video from your cameras
  • View recorded video clips (Video Events)
  • Change your system's user codes
Other than these excluded capabilities, your dealer can change any setting while Security Professional access is in effect.
This access can be granted only by the Master User. Access lasts for 2 hours or 24 hours:
  • The Master User can enable 2 hours of access directly from their My Profile page. In this case, the dealer must access the account and begin their work within 2 hours of access being granted.
  • If the Master User is responding to an emailed request from the dealer, 24 hours of access is granted and the dealer must begin their work within 24 hours of access being granted.
In either case, the Master User can manually terminate Security Professional Access ahead of time.

Notifications and follow-up

Depending on your account settings, granting and revoking this access can originate email and/or on-device push notifications.

If the dealer tries to log in after Security Professional access expires, only read-only access is possible.

The Master User can set up a notification of the dealer logging in to the account. This notification is created on the Notifications List page; click the Add notification button. In the New Notification dialog box, select Administration and then, Sessions.
