• At the bottom of the screen, touch
  • Touch Settings
  • Touch Notifications
  • At the top of the next page, choose to enable Email/SMS Notifications or Push Notifications or both.

To view existing Notifications and add new ones:

Touch My Notifications. A list of all existing notifications appears. The notifications are displayed in categories (Administration events, Camera events, Device events, etc.) Note that this is the same list that is displayed when you click List under Notifications on the website.

Touch the button at the top of the screen to start configuring a new notification. Select a part of your system to trigger the notification:

  • Security:  Be alerted when the system Arms or Disarms, when an alarm occurs or is cleared, when a door or window is opened/closed, when a sensor has a low battery, has been tampered with or been bypassed. Other triggers include 'Sync' events (when information on the remote system is synchronized with the system panel), loss/restoration of AC power and when the panel itself has been tampered with.
  • Cameras: Issues alerts when new recordings or still captures are triggered by:
    • The security system's sensors
    • When certain sounds are picked up by a camera's microphone
    • When a camera has a low battery
    • When a camera has been tampered with
If you have a security system and cameras, you can set your cameras to capture video clips or snapshots when selected events occur.
  • Video Doorbell: Includes alerts when the doorbell is rung as well as motion detection by the doorbell's camera.
  • Devices: Includes alerts for status of scheduled events as well as changes in status or settings of select Wi-Fi enabled devices.
  • Built-In Camera: Issues alerts when the system is disarmed, triggering a still photo of the person at the panel or when a look-in is initiated. Note that not all security system control panels have built-in cameras.
  • Emergency Alert: The security system control panel on the premises can alert you when the remote service receives tornado warnings from recognized authorities. If you choose this option, you will need to specify your ZIP Code on your account's Locations page.
  • Administration: "Sessions" are those times when your dealer or central monitoring station has full or partial access to your system. This can include Video Alarm Verification (VAV) and Security Professional Access (abbreviated on the menu as Instlr-Full Access).
Select a combination of devices, events and conditions that will trigger the notification you're creating. On each succeeding page, click CONTINUE to create and save the combination of factors you're setting up.

NOTE: If you select a disabled sensor, you'll see an option to enable it.

After choosing devices and events, you will choose who receives the notifications and select from a number of scheduling options.
  • When satisfied with your settings, click SAVE.  
Beneath My Notifications, the next three rows offer important options:
  • Use Groups to create different sets of system users to be notified when the conditions for a specific notification occur. If you have the right administrator credentials, you can also delete a group, disable it without deleting it, enable it again or send test messages to the group.
  • The Schedules screen allows you to define when a specific Notification is sent. For example, you might wish to set up an alert that is only delivered after hours if an entry door at a business opens or closes.
  • The Sensor Activity option displays the status of any faulted sensor on the Security page of the app (the first screen you see after the app starts), without the need to switch to the Activity screen.
